I helped make this game while in a team of 3. Me, Vinnie Knibbs, and Olena Feerick
The theme was "Connect"
My role involved:
coming up with the concept, making physical pieces, and Writing the rules,
When I saw the theme "Connect", we did a quick inventory of our team's skillset and decided to make a boeard game.
I had an idea for a game with a modular board that "Connect"ed together. This led to the main design concept of the game, A racing game with modular track.
coming up with how to play a game is much easier when you have things to help visualise it.
Once the team had an idea of what we wanted the cars to look like, i started making a few out of polymer clay. Once That was done, I could use the pieces to explain ideas to the rest of the team.
The board pieces were designed by another member of the team to fit the dimensions of the pieces. Once printed out, I cut out and glued the square tiles to square pieces of Cardboard which would be placed together to make the track.
The Rules of a board game have to be comprehensive and consistent otherwise the reader might be confused... especially when you write complex rules.
In the rules document I aimed to approach each mechanic one at a time.
I will admit to getting silly with some of the additional optional ways to play
